Just have to supply your own Windows OS license. So I am happy that VirtualBox seems to be a good free alternative. I also own VMWARE Fusion but its version is outdated and I can't run fusion under 10.9 without updating to version 6 and paying for a new license. Or let me know if there is anything specific I should test. (But it does still seem usable with only 4gb total.) Because I think my OS X 10.9 especially is cramped running with only 2gb available to it. I am new to C2 so I have not put it through its paces, but there is no weirdness yet at this point.īecause of the impact of memory on speed in both my operating systems, I just ordered 8gb (2x4gb) RAM for about $60 to replace my 4gb. Namely, I started a new project, dragged a PNG into it and ran layout - displayed the image as expected (no gray box problems) * Tested the problem experienced by the other person who tried VirtualBoxĪnd it worked for my setup. And, one of the demos gave a message about OpenGL not working but that was to be expected. However the frame rate and sound may be been a bit laggy. * Loaded and ran both included demos successfully in C2 running through Firefox. However, I did up the resolution in the control panel. ![]() * Upon install, Construct 2 suggests getting latest video drivers which of course won't work, so didn't change them. This lists the correct graphics card (the one on the remote computer), as well as the correct version numbers.Having success so far with following setup.Īllocated 2gb RAM for OS X and 2gb RAM for Windows 7Ĭonstruct 2 Release 152 (trying free edition for now) OpenGL shading language version string: 4.30 NVIDIA via Cg compiler OpenGL version string: 4.3.0 NVIDIA 310.14 OpenGL renderer string: GeForce GTX 550 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 Set DISPLAY variable to :0, to allow access to the graphic card's driver from the remote session. ('Wrong' in terms of what you would expect). In addition, using virtualbox is far less complicated than the dual boot hackintosh method we have looked at previously. Having a virtualbox mac OS is the easiest method of using mac as and when you need it. I should note here that this is both the wrong graphics card, and wrong version numbers. Soon enough, you’ll be right inside of macOS, where you’ll be able to start using your mac virtual machine on Windows. OpenGL shading language version string: 1.20 NVIDIA via Cg compiler OpenGL version string: 2.1.2 NVIDIA 310.44 OpenGL renderer string: GeForce 8800 GT/PCIe/SSE2 Note: I've added this answer at a later date, because none of the existing answers address a crucial aspects regarding ssh, and will give misleading values to those who follow the above instructions. Notice that the actual version is presented by the "core profile version" (4.1), whereas the "OpenGL version" is presented as 3.0. OpenGL ES profile shading language version string: OpenGL ES GLSL ES 3.00 OpenGL ES profile version string: OpenGL ES 3.0 Mesa 11.1.2 OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30 OpenGL core profile shading language version string: 4.10 ![]() OpenGL core profile version string: 4.1 (Core Profile) Mesa 11.1.2 You may have better luck with modern OpenGL just grepping for "version" instead of "OpenGL version" given the differences between the core and compat profiles, as well as the various GLSL and GLES versions: glxinfo | grep 'version' ![]() You will get the output as follows, glxinfo | grep "OpenGL version"
